Art Attack

I've had a pretty good weekend only slightly marred by a couple tension headaches but these have eased with the help of either paracetamol or co-codamol.

Tomorrow I am at the day unit for bloods and will also drop off my now completed art work that I started in hospital. As usual my "artistic vision" outstripped my abilities but it was fun doing it.

There's nothing wrong with the artistic abilities I think in view of the circumstances it's very good. What's the chance of a digital photo I can Down load and print for the album?.

T + 125 Sore Point

I managed to cut the tip of the index finger of my left hand with the bread knife yesterday. After my initial exclamation of "Ooh I say, that stings a bit!" My next thought was "possible source of infection!" something I wouldn't have given much thought to 18 months ago. It wasn't a very deep cut but it was right on the fleshy tip so bled a fair bit and was in a place that would open up again easily. When your immune system is low your first line of defence is the physical barrier of  your skin. So I was a brave little soldier and rinsed it with a some alcohol gel, more "Ooh I say", and then stuck a plaster on it. I tried taking the plaster off this morning but that was a bit premature and it was back on by lunchtime as the cut had opened opened up  again, probably due to using a keyboard all morning. Rien na va plus....

...as they say in tipton. Or no more bets. I had a call at about 19:15 tonight to say there was a bed for me and could I come right now in case an emergency admission nicked it overnight. Gareth gave me a lift up and I was all settled in by 20:15. I had the choice of two beds here in room 6 and I could have completed the set and had the only bed I've not had before but I decided I'd rather have my original bed by the window. -- http://raetsel.wordpress.com

Bright Eyes......... (PG)

.......and no longer " burning like fire ". The chloramphenicol drops have cleared up my conjunctivitis again and I'm just finishing off the course of drops today. I've stayed off the computer pretty much over the last three days to help my dry eye syndrome as well. That has been quite bad in my right despite using the artificial tears regularly. The problem is, as it always has been, at night. As soon as I move my right eye under the lid in the morning, never mind actually open it, I get a sharp pain in it like someone has poked me in the eye. What has actually happened is that the surface of my eye is dry and the base epithelial layer of the cornea breaks down and gets ripped off by my lid. Yes it is as painful as it sounds. The pain subsides after an hour or so and generally it is ok for the rest of the day. What's worse than the early morning wake up poke in the eye is if I wake in the middle of the night for some reason. It takes me a while to get back off ...
